Whoa, it's been almost a month since I last touched this website. I kinda forgot how fast time flies by.
Apologies, let me start with a sincere acknowledgement that I have not been updating this website for the past month. I was preoccupied with many things, and still am in some sorts, with college as such, as midterms were on the way last month. I still have 1 - 2 exams coming up, which I need to study for, but I think I have enough time to eek out a blog update.
First off, I want to say that I've created a new art piece. It was supposed to be about a nighttime city look which I found off google. IDK why I decided to draw it, but I felt compelled to do so.
I always enjoy walking around at night, despite knowing how unsafe it can be. There's something calming about a night stroll, where many of the once busy buildings and crowed places become silent and tranquill, allowing you to completely engross yourself in the moment, while you take into the beautiful scenery. I really grateful I live in a pretty peaceful area, so I can go for night walks safely.
Anyways, back to my drawing. I decided to try and make the night sky have a gradient, employing some dithering techniques in order to give off the illusion that the sky was getting darker the further it was away from the moon. T'was a good idea I had in mind, but not in practice.
Sure, from far away, it looks fine, but up close, it looks very noticeable and you can see the inconsistencies with the sky.
Actually, as a whole, I employed way too much dithering into this art piece. I was in the mindset that more dithering makes the art piece more detialed, but looking back at this one, I think a lot more solid colors would have done it justice.
Like the bridge for example. I put way too much of a gradient on the bridge shadows, making it look very unnatural.
Still, this is all just a learning curve, and I'm gaining so much experience from this, so I'll try to do better next time.
Although I say next time, I'm currently working on my next piece, and this one will be special, and very different from my usual style, so look out for that. Also, although I upload some of my art on my website, there are many other pieces I don't; for example, I made some small variations to this piece which I haven't posted here. If you want to see the other variations for this piece, you can email me about it. Although, theres not much to see here lol.
Ok, moving on from that. I'm probably going to upload the first page to the games page. There is a game I am currently playing and I'm almost finished with it, so I want to share my expeirence with it, considering it is probably not a well known game at all in it's genre.
Also the game is certainly not for all ages unfortunately. So if you are under the age of 18, I wouldn't recomend you reading it, as I won't show/write anything obscene in my review, but I will show some suggestive stuff.
Also you shouldn't buy the game if your underage so yeah, read with caution.
But to make it up, I'll write another review shortly after about another game I recently was playing, and this one would be more for all ages, so be ready for that.
And finally, I'm going to redesign this website. The design I first came up with was satisfactory, and got me through for now, but I think it's time to come up with a new design since the site doesn't feel as personal or interesting to me. Right now, I'm in the planning and brainstorming phase of what I want the website to look like, so it'll take a while, but you will know once the website changes.
Don't expect too much change this week, since I got a STAT exam on wednesday, but I'll try to do some work on this website.
As for now, I'll see you all later.
This blog won't be too long, but anyways. Today is the first day of spring break!
No more school work to do and more.
Ok thats kind of a lie. I have a lot of a work to do. Especially studying. I've been slacking on that. But I'm more so planning to work on this website, and promise the plans I wanted to do, now that I have the time.
Thats all I wanted to say. I'll keep you posted if anything interesting happens this week.
