Birthday Blog!

4/24/26

Today is my birthday!!
Usually I'd have a lot more to say, but unfortunately, I got my finals in 2 weeks, so I gotta study.

Thats also why I haven't updated the website, I'm a bit too busy to studying for my finals. I'm extremely sorry for not getting the reviews out. I wasn't able to finish the game on time, so I couldn't finish it.

Well, I turn 20 today. I guess I'm no longer a teenager. Truthfully, birthdays never mean too much to me ever since high school. I don't get presents or anything, nor do I celebrate it with friends. I kinda just move on and spend an hour or two with family going out to eat.

To some people, it may seem pointless and a waste of a day, but too me, I'm just glad people remember my birthday. Hell sometimes I don't remember other people's birthday, so I'm ever grateful for others who remember mine. I'm currently writing this at midnight, so I don't have any plans at the moment, just gotta go to class and study.
Thankfully I finished most of my work I had due, so I shouldn't have anything due today.

Honestly I'll never grasp turning 20. I still can't believe I was 19, cause everytime I look in the mirror, I still look like I am forever 16. I don't know if thats a good or bad thing, so you decide to your own discrection.

I've never had good luck with my birthdays, last year, my birthday landed the day before an exam, so I had to study for that, and the year before that, I had an exam and had to study for an exam on my birthday. I guess it's consistent?

Yeah I want to put a lot more effort in this post, but I don't have the time to focus on this website now, I have other things to focus on.

But hey, maybe I'll have a better birthday next year. It'll land on a weekend, so it'll be way nicer I hope.
One can only hope at this point.

Anyways, this is it from me. Next you'll hear from me is when all my exams are done.

Edit:

Ok, so now that the day is over, I can say that today was kinda a nothing day. I didn't do much, except go to class, study, and prepare for exams.
Except that I decided to buy something at the local mall.

Yeah, so outside my college campus, there is a average size mall. It's not the biggest, its only one floor, and it doesn't have a lot of stuff I'm a big fan off. Clothing stores are not my favorite things. But there is one store thats I like.

It's a store with a lot of nerdy type stuff. Things like comic books, poster, manga/anime, videogames, and hell, even consoles. It's a really cool place, but I never go there because it's kinda far from my college. Like a 20 min bus ride to it.
Even then, I have to get off near by and take a small walk to the mall,
Where there are no sidewalks.

Anyways, I decide to go there because I wanted to buy myself a present. Not particullarly a large gift, I usually go by a motto of only spending at the maximum, $20 for a single total purchase. It's certainly limiting, but it helps keep me in check.

Originally, I was going to buy a videogame, because I felt like getting a new one, but the longer I looked at the catalogue that they had, the more I realized it wasn't worth it. I was looking for Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360 since those are the consoles I have. The Wii and Wii U sections were almost empty, and filled with shovelware. The Xbox 360 had a lot of games, a lot which were good and underpriced for me to buy, but then I decided not to buy it, since there wasn't a guarantee that I would bring my xbox 360 to college next year, when compared to my wii and wii u.

There were accessories I could buy for consoles, which were enticing to me since they were cheap and I could reasonably use them, especially a wii balance board, which they had ample stocks off. I decieded not to buy that because well, I don't want to take that home in a couple of days, would be too heavy.

I decided to buy some manga instead. I don't really have too big of a collection, so why not buy some more. I would like to buy anime blu ray sets, but I don't have a dvd player, so it'd be useless for me to buy it. Even though streaming sites exists which host anime(legal and illegal), its nice to own your own copy.

Deciding what manga to get was proving to be a hard choice at the time. I was standing in the empty store for 10 minutes, deciding what to pick up. I rationalized thay since I had a hard limit, I should only buy a standalone mannga, not a series, if I can. That way, I felt I could get more out of my purchase rather than buying it, then deciding to find and read it online after I finish the volume, wasting my purchase.

There were a lot of good manga to choose from, but in the end, I decided to choose The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Link to the Past by Akira Himekawa.

Actually, last time I bought something from that store, I bought a manga from the same author, but it was about Ocarina of Time instead. It was suprising to me, considering I'm not a big Legend of Zelda fan, but I liked the series enough, and as well, it's only one book, so I can read through it comfortably without feeling that I'm on a cliff hanger.

After my exams, I'm planning on writing my reviews for these books, since they are well written and the art looks amazing.

Oh yeah, I also played HL2 DM today and it was really fun. I know Death Match is a gamemode that isn't popular nowadays, and it's hard to find a game with enough players in todays age, but I actually found one.

It was a lot of fun to play. Sure, you die a lot, but you respawn instantly and get back to the action in no time. I only complaint I really have about it is that there is no spawn protection, so you can insta die and you can't do anything about it, but other than that, it real fun.

It's even more fun with HL2, since you can throw stuff at people, like barrels and toilets, although it can get laggy.

But yeah, that was my birthday. Not even cake, but it's usually not very eventful. Just glad I don't have an exam on the next day lol.
